We Believe…

1. The Holy Bible: The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s inspired Word. Inerrant in its original writing, the Bible is the only authoritative and infallible rule of faith and conduct for humanity.

2. The Deity: The sovereign deity of the universe is God Almighty, who is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth. He is eternal, infinite, holy, self-existent Spirit who created, sustains, rules, redeems, and judges His creation. He is one in nature, essence and being. God is revealed in Scripture as Father and Son.

3. Man, Satan, Sin and Death: Humanity was created in the image of God--sinless, though not naturally immortal. Through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, all human beings became sinners by nature and by choice. The penalty for our sin is alienation from God, physical death (without consciousness) and, ultimately, eternal death for those who do not receive the salvation offered by Christ. It was Satan, the adversary of God, who tempted our first parents in the garden. The Devil is still capable of transforming himself into an angel of light but will finally be destroyed in the lake of fire.

4. Man and Salvation: Sinful humanity may be saved from the penalty of eternal death and receive eternal life instead, solely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human merit, works, or ceremonies. Atonement for sins, with its attendant promise of eternal life, comes through Christ’s death and resurrection on our behalf and is received in human experience by faith and repentance.

5. The Church: The Church of God in Scripture is a spiritual body of believers who hold the faith of Jesus and keep the commandments of God. Under the lordship of Christ and the authority of His Word, the church exists universally and locally for purposes of worshipping God, preaching the gospel, nurturing believers, and serving humanity. Christians should participate in the church’s mission by service to others and fellowship with believers.

6. Christian Ordinances: Christ prescribed two ordinances that confirm faith in Him: 1) baptism, preceded by a confession of faith in Christ and repentance, symbolizing the believer’s initial union with Christ by death to sins, burial (immersion) in water, and rising to new life; and 2) Lord’s Supper, an annual memorial of Christ’s death in which believers eat the bread and drink from the cup—symbols of His body and blood. We extend charity towards those who may observe communion at other times. This communion service demonstrates fellowship with our Savior until He comes again. It is accompanied by foot-washing.

7. The Ten Commandments: The Ten Commandments were known and obeyed by faithful people before the law was given at Sinai. Later incorporated into the new covenant by the example and teaching of Christ, they constitute the basic moral code for humanity and are obeyed to demonstrate the believer’s love for God and his fellowman.

8. The Sabbath: The seventh-day Sabbath is God's gift to humanity from Creation, was written into the Ten Commandments by God's finger, was kept and taught by Jesus, and was observed by the apostolic church. A memorial of both Creation and redemption, the Sabbath should be celebrated faithfully by believers now as a day of rest, worship, and well doing.

9. On Marriage: Marriage is an institution of God and is an exclusive lifetime union between one man and one woman for the purpose of perpetuating humanity and enriching human experience. Reflecting the bond between Christ and His church, marriage may be broken only by sexual immorality. Like the Sabbath, marriage dates to Creation week, is intrinsic to the moral law, is reformed in Christ’s teachings, and finds its ultimate meaning at His return.

10. Christian Living: Christians are called to holiness in thought, word, and deed and to express faith in Christ through devotion to God and godly interaction with others. As a result — not a cause — of redemption, believers should 1) develop relationship with God through Bible reading and study, prayer, fasting, worship, and obedience; 2) relieve the physical and spiritual needs of humanity by compassionate social action and gospel witness; 3) oppose pride, envy, indolence, lust, covetousness, and other evils in the spirit; 4) refuse immoral amusements and practices such as pornography, sexual immorality, and homosexuality in the flesh.

11. Financial Support for the Gospel: Christians are called to holiness in thought, word, and deed and to express faith in Christ through devotion to God and godly interaction with others. As a result — not a cause — of redemption, believers should give tithe and freewill offerings for the support of the church and its gospel ministry.

12. Clean Meats for Food: Christians are called to holiness in thought, word, and deed and to express faith in Christ through devotion to God and godly interaction with others. As a result — not a cause — of redemption, believers should eat for food only those meats the Bible describes as “clean”.

13. Military Warfare: Christians are called to holiness in thought, word, and deed and to express faith in Christ through devotion to God and godly interaction with others. As a result — not a cause — of redemption, believers should regard participation in physical warfare as contrary to a Christian’s humanitarian calling.

14. On Extra-Biblical Days: Christians are called to holiness in thought, word, and deed and to express faith in Christ through devotion to God and godly interaction with others. As a result — not a cause — of redemption, believers should observe these Bible principles: Avoid intermixing Christianity with extra-biblical practices, as in the common observances of Sunday, Christmas, Easter, Lent, and Halloween.

15. On Prophecy: Bible prophecy preserves and strengthens a believer's hope for the Second Advent. It identifies religious, social and political trends and events, including the rebirth of the nation of Israel, which point to the imminent return of Christ and the eventual establishment of God's eternal kingdom on earth.

16. The Kingdom of God: The kingdom of God (kingdom of heaven) is realized in three phases: 1) The Present Kingdom -- The spiritual kingdom of grace exists now as God rules in the lives of obedient believers. This kingdom was announced and revealed through the prophets and the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. We enter this kingdom when we turn from our sin to serve God through faith in Jesus Christ. 2) The Millennial Kingdom of Christ – Jesus will return to earth in power and glory to resurrect the righteous dead, bestow immortality and eternal life upon the resurrected and the living righteous, avenge the saints, and be glorified in them. His earthly reign of one thousand years will be a universal kingdom in which all principalities, powers, and enemies are overcome. At its conclusion, the unrighteous will be resurrected to suffer annihilation at the great white throne judgment. 3) The Eternal Kingdom of God – God’s eternal kingdom will begin when Jesus Christ, having put all enemies under His feet, turns the kingdom over to the Father. God will dwell with the redeemed in a new heaven and a new earth where no disappointment, defilement, or death can enter and where righteousness and peace will prevail forever.

1. La Santa Biblia: La Biblia, compuesta del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento, es la Palabra inspirada por Dios. Inerrante en su escrito original, la Biblia es la única regla de fe autoritativa e infalible y conducta para la humanidad.

2. La Deidad: La Deidad soberana del universo es Dios Todopoderoso, el que debe ser adorado en espíritu y en verdad. Él es eterno, infinito, santo, Espíritu existente por sí mismo que creó, sostiene, gobierna, redime y juzga a Su creación. El es uno en naturaleza, esencia y ser. Dios se revela en las Escrituras como Padre e Hijo.

3. Hombre, Satanás, Pecado y Muerte: La humanidad fue creada a la imagen de Dios – sin pecado, aunque no naturalmente inmortal. Por la desobediencia de Adán y Eva, todos los seres humanos fueron pecadores por naturaleza y por decisión. La penalidad por nuestro pecado es estar distantes de Dios, la muerte física (sin conciencia) y finalmente muerte eterna para aquellos que no reciban la salvación ofrecida por Cristo. Fue Satanás, el adversario de Dios, quien tentó a nuestros primeros padres en el jardín. El Diablo todavía es capaz de transformarse en un ángel de luz pero será finalmente destruido en el lago de fuego.

4. Hombre, Salvación: La humanidad pecadora puede ser salvada de la pena de muerte eterna y recibir a cambio la vida eterna, solamente por la gracia de Dios a través de la fe en Jesucristo, aparte de méritos humanos, obras o ceremonias. La expiación por los pecados, con la adición de la promesa de vida eterna, viene a través de la muerte y resurrección de Cristo en nuestro favor, siendo recibida en la experiencia humana por la fe y el arrepentimiento.

5. La Iglesia: La Iglesia de Dios según la Escritura es un cuerpo espiritual de creyentes que mantienen la fe de Jesús y guardan los mandamientos de Dios. Bajo el señorío de Cristo y la autoridad de su Palabra, la iglesia existe universal y localmente con el propósito de alabar a Dios, predicar el evangelio, nutrir a los creyentes y servir a la humanidad. Los cristianos deben participar en la misión de la iglesia, sirviendo a otros y teniendo comunión con los creyentes.

6. Ordenanzas Cristianas: Cristo instituyó dos ordenanzas que confirman la fe en Él: 1) el bautismo, precedido por la confesión de fe en Cristo y el arrepentimiento, simbolizando la unión inicial del creyente con Cristo mediante la muerte al pecado, la sepultura (inmersión) en agua, y el levantarse a una nueva vida; y 2) La Cena del Señor, un memorial anual de la muerte de Cristo, en la que los creyentes comen el pan y beben el vino de la copa - símbolos de Su cuerpo y de Su sangre. Extendemos caridad hacia aquellos quienes puedan observar la comunión en otras ocasiones. Este servicio demuestra la comunión con nuestro Salvador hasta que Él regrese. Se acompaña con el lavatorio de pies.

7. Los Diez Mandamientos: Los Diez mandamientos eran conocidos y obedecidos por personas fieles antes de que la ley fuera dada en el Sinaí. Más tarde se incorporaron al nuevo pacto mediante el ejemplo y enseñanzas de Cristo, ellos constituyen el código base de las leyes morales para la humanidad y son obedecidos para demostrar el amor del creyente hacia Dios y a sus prójimos.

8. El Sábado: El séptimo día sábado es un regalo de Dios para la humanidad desde la Creación, fue escrito en los Diez Mandamientos por el dedo de Dios, fue guardado y enseñado por Jesús, y fue observado por la iglesia apostólica. Un memorial de la Creación y de la redención, el sábado debe ser celebrado fielmente por los creyentes hoy como día de descanso, adoración y para hacer lo bueno.

9. Sobre el Matrimonio: El matrimonio es una institución de Dios y es una unión exclusiva de por vida entre un hombre y una mujer con los propósitos de perpetuar la humanidad y de enriquecer la experiencia humana. Al reflejar el vínculo entre Cristo y su iglesia, el matrimonio puede ser roto solamente por inmoralidad sexual. Como el sábado, el matrimonio se remota desde la semana de la creación, es intrínseco a la ley moral, es reformado en las enseñanzas de Cristo y halla su significado máximo en su retorno.

10. La Vida Cristiana: Los cristianos están llamados a la santidad en pensamiento, palabra, y obra, y también para expresar la fe en Cristo a través de la devoción a Dios y la interacción santa con los demás. Como resultado – no como causa – de redención, los creyentes deben 1) desarrollar una relación con Dios a través de leer y estudiar la Biblia, oración, ayuno, adoración, y obediencia; 2) aliviar las necesidades físicas y espirituales de la humanidad a través de la acción social compasiva y la declaración del evangelio; 3) oponerse al orgullo, envidia, apatía, lujuria, codicia, y a otros espíritus de maldad; 4) rehusarse a entretenimientos inmorales y prácticas así como la pornografía, inmoralidades sexuales, y la homosexualidad en la carne.

11. Apoyo Financiero al Evangelio: Los Cristianos son llamados a santidad en pensamiento, palabra, y obras además de expresar su fe en Cristo a través de una devoción a Dios e interacción divina con otros. Como un resultado- no como una causa- de redención, los creyentes deben de dar diezmos y ofrendas voluntarias para el apoyo de la iglesia y el ministerio del evangelio.

12. Carnes Limpias para Alimento: Los cristianos son llamados a santidad en pensamiento, palabra, hechos y a expresar fe en Cristo por medio de la devoción a Dios e interacción con otros en el amor de Dios. Como un resultado – no una causa – de redención, los creyentes deben tener por alimento solamente aquellas carnes que la biblia cataloga como “limpias”.

13. La Guerra Militar: Los cristianos son llamados a la santidad en pensamiento, palabra y obras, y a expresar fe en Cristo por medio de su devoción a Dios y una interacción santa con otros. Como resultado — no como causa — de redención, los creyentes deberían considerar su participación en la guerra física como algo contrario al llamado humanitario de los cristianos.

14. Los Días Extrabíblicos: Los cristianos son llamados a la santidad en pensamiento, palabra y obras, y a expresar fe en Cristo por medio de su devoción a Dios y una interacción santa con otros. Como resultado — no como causa — de redención, los creyentes deberían considerar su participación en la guerra física como algo contrario al llamado humanitario de los cristianos.

15. Acerca de la Profecía: La profecía bíblica preserva y fortalece la esperanza de los creyentes de la segunda venida. Identifica tendencias religiosas, sociales y políticas y otros eventos, incluyendo el renacimiento de la nación de Israel, lo cual apunta al inminente regreso de Cristo y el establecimiento eventual del reino eternal de Dios en la tierra.

16. El Reino de Dios: El reino de Dios (reino de los cielos) se realiza en tres fases: 1) El Reino Presente – El reino espiritual de gracia existe ahora cuando Dios reina en las vidas de creyentes obedientes. Este reino fue anunciado y revelado a través de los profetas y del ministerio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Entramos en este reino cuando nos volvemos de nuestros pecados y servimos a Dios por la fe en Cristo Jesús. 2) El Reino Milenial de Cristo – Jesús regresará a la tierra en poder y gloria para resucitar a los justos muertos, darles inmortalidad y vida eterna a los resucitados y los justos vivientes, vengar a los santos, y ser glorificado en ellos. Su reino terrenal de mil años será un reino universal en el cual todos los principados, poderes, y enemigos serán vencidos. A su término, los injustos resucitarán para sufrir la aniquilación en el juicio del gran trono blanco. 3) El Reino Eternal de Dios – El reino eternal de Dios comenzará cuando Jesucristo haya puesto a todos sus enemigos bajo sus pies y le entregue el Reino al Padre. Dios habitará con los redimidos en un cielo y una tierra nueva donde no habrá más desilusión, corrupción, o muerte, y donde la justicia y la paz prevalecerán para siempre.
